Return to St. Peters Church

This is my second lunchtime sketch of this charming little church.

Hats (part 4)

The last four in this series of hats; three digital drawings, one conventional.
Same floppy hat as seen in part 3, but
with the sides pop-studded up and
some of the paint splodges visible.

Hats (part 1)

This Twitter event, #DrawingAugust, inspired me to draw some hats. Most of them are digital drawings, done with a tablet and pen attached to my laptop. The hats, however, are real.

Here are a few sketches that I made on black A4 from the comfort of our lovely self-catering cottage.

Dorset Sketches - Land and Seascapes

Here are a few sketches from our family holiday in Dorset. All were done in an A5 sketch pad.

Ironstone

Once upon a time, they quarried ironstone here; there are even mine workings where, I imagine, there was a particularly good seam.

Brush and Quink

I wrote enough about Quink in my last post. This post has a couple of brush drawings that were made with Quink, which was then diluted with water and moved around the paper. The first drawing has a little white acrylic in it, too.

Pen and Quink

You may be wondering what "Quink" is.

#DrawingAugust - at the end of week one

You may have noticed the term "#DrawingAugust" appearing in my recent posts.

LEGO Minifigures 83: Train Driver

I was asked by a colleague if I had painted a LEGO train driver. I hadn't, but we did have a suitable figure, so now I have.

Praa Sands - sketches

The day before we went to Marazion (Mount's Bay), the weather was dull but we were itching to visit the beach. The kids took their bodyboards; I took my sketchbook.

Mount's Bay

Is there anything more perfect than sitting on a beach in Cornwall, painting?
