Lego Minifigures 28 and 29: London

Here are two minifigures in London (well, actually they're in the Big London A-Z from 1993, which doesn't suit either of their timescales very well).

I imagine that working out where Sherlock Holmes is shouldn't be too much of a problem. But Builder 2012 might pose a bit more of a puzzle.

I must admit that I am rather impressed that Mr. Holmes' magnifying glass really works.

  1. Um, somewhere near Baker Street and by Stratford tube station where he's building the Olympic stadium?

By the way, have you finished with the Lego ladies now?

  2. You got it, Beth! (And the Lego ladies should be winging their way to you later this week; hope that is OK).

  3. That's great, thanks! Are you going to the olympics at all? We didn't apply for tickets, but my cousin fences and got tickets for that.

I love the builder's shiny hat, more of the special paint?

  4. No, I must admit that I have precisely no interest whatsoever in the Olympics. I will be attempting to watch none of it on television, too.

Um... your cousin fences? Bruce Dickinson style or Fagin style? Either might work for acquiring tickets...

Shiny builders hat has no special paint! As I recall, just cadmium red, ultramarine and white. Maybe a hint of burnt umber that was lying around on the palette. Special paint was applied to the jacket where the reflective bits are, though. Not sure it is apparent in the scan.

  5. I should have added that the builder on the site of the stadium was someone else's idea, and I thank him heartily for it, for it would never have occurred to me.
