School Mural Project (First Post)

I may have not kept this entirely under my paint-splodged hat, but hopefully the secret has been under control up until now.

Now that the bulletin has been was supposed to have been issued, and everybody associated with the school knows about it (oops) - now, I can tell you about the project and show you some of the peparatory work.


Both of my children atttend the village primary school, which has a modern building, the oldest parts of which date back to the 1960s or 70s. It's not the prettiest of buildings.

I was asked if I woud "lead" a project to paint a series of murals, inside and out. I naturally said, "yes", despite having very little in the way of leadership skills or experience in creating murals. It's painting, isn't it? I can do that. The difficulty will come in organising the team of primary children who will be contributing.

The first job will be the front of the school. There's some preparation work to be done (the surfaces are brick and painted plywood panels), but we're hoping to get some children weilding paintbrushes in the first week back at school after the summer holidays.
