When I painted New Forest Ponies 1 - a 7 x 5" acrylic on canvas board - it was always my intention to reuse the source image for a bigger, palette knife oil. It took me almost a year and a half to do it, but here is the result.

Surf@Portreath Revisited
Available as a limited edition fine art print. Click here for details.
This is based on the same photograph that I used for Surf@Portreath (which, coincidentally, I painted almost exactly a year ago). There's some lovely shapes and texture in the waves in that shot, and I wanted to have another go at it.
It's been painted in frustratingly short sessions, with an interruption courtesy of the half term holiday, but it doesn't seem to have suffered unduly.
Oil on canvas, 30 x 90 cm

Heart of the Village
This was a commission; it was good to get a scene that I have made images of twice before finally down on canvas.
Imaginary Dancer 1, "Freedom"
Unusually for me, this piece came almost entirely from imagination. It's not that I don't imagine stuff much - it's more that there are so many real things that I want to paint!

ACEO: Royal Victoria
This tiny painting is a gift for a friend.
I hope she likes it. It's the chapel tower of the former military hospital at the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley, near Southampton.
Acrylic on ACEO, 3.5 x 2.5"

More Pink Tulips
I've had a black-painted 7x7cm canvas hanging around since Hallowe'en last year. It occurred to me today to use it for flowers. (Because they are there.)
February 2014 - Library Exhibition
11 months ago, I booked myself back into the library at Tadley for this month, little thinking that I would be a full time (or thereabouts) artist now. Nor, indeed, that several of my paintings would be in Warsash being copied for fine art prints.
