I had a busy day yesterday, but I had promised myself a walk and a plein air paint.
I ended up with 40 minutes on the hill, at which point,
Cross Path looked like this:
Most of what happened after I brought the painting down off of the hill was refinement.
It's called
Cross Path because it was painted from a path that crosses from a well-used track to the local recreation ground, parallel to the ridge of the downs. This is the view to the east; there's another lovely view to the west. The painting shows parts of Plantation Hill and Cottington's Hill; the hedge line approaching the dip between the two also marks the footpath to Hannington.
