Recorders and Lute: Palisander and Toby Carr (triptych)

Recorders and Lute (triptych), before framing

These three pieces were painted using inkjet printer inks (without the inkjet printer).

They are based on a series of sketches made at a performance given by Palisander at the Newbury Spring Festival 2016, and are currently on exhibition at the Corn Exchange, the same venue at which the artists performed last year.

The exhibition, which includes work by six artists, ends this week and is only open during performances, being located in the entrance corridor to the main auditorium. Nonetheless, the exhibition has been seen by many people as it was installed for the duration of 2017's Newbury Spring Festival. The exhibition will end on 24 May.

The left hand part of the triptych, and the method that I employed is also featured in a new book, How to Paint, published by Flame Tree Publishing on 26 May.
