Godrevy Storm

I was standing near the foot of the steps that lead down from the lifeguard hut at Gwithian (St Ives Bay, Cornwall), looking towards Godrevy Light, when I took the source photographs for this painting. It was December 2013, and the waves were impressive, but not as high as they were to become in the New Year.

Thankfully, the promised storm seems to have turned out to be a bit of a damp squib in this area.
