Corfe/Kirrin
This is a view of and from Corfe Castle. Corfe Castle is the name of the splendid ruined castle and of the pretty village; together, they guard the entrance to the isle of Purbeck in Dorset.
Corfe Castle (the fortification) is reputed to be the real location that Enid Blyton reimagined as Kirrin Castle in her Famous Five books.
The painting was made in two stages. First, I painted the background with a brush:
and then I added the foreground wall, with its mysterious opening (might it be a secret tunnel?), using a knife.
