Lego Minifigures 44: "Arwen"

← Welby Church 1: Framed
Bethnoir suggested that Legolas needed a friend. Well, all Lord of the Rings fans know that he gets on very well with a certain lady elf called Arwen - and so that is the name of this figure, custom-built to resemble the Liv Tyler incarnation of said character. Of course, her ears are hidden beneath her flowing locks.

Now that I'm working full time, I have less painting time. It's proving a little tricky to find enough daylight of an evening (what with cooking dinner and packing children off to bed), so Arwen was painted (yesterday) under artificial light. In an attempt to soften the light and make it a bit more interesting I lit a couple of candles. Between the flames and the overhead halogen light, the colours hinted at in the whites are quite different to those seen in daylight.

Acrylic on canvas, 7 x 7 cm
