If these fruit look familiar, it may be that you recognise them from my small painting, "Tailor".
Of course, I ate those cherries as soon as I finished painting them the first time, so this is based on my previous painting. It is scaled up a bit - from 7 x 7 cm to 30 x 30 cm - and it's also rather brighter.
I wanted to create a sort of posterised effect. I even used software to posterise the photograph of my first painting as an aide. It's quite a departure in terms of style, for me, but it seems to have worked. If I do it again, I might try without the computer assistance.

DeleteAs to using the PC ... well, it's a tool, but I don't want to rely on it. When you learnt how to use an SLR, did you go straight to using a fully automated mode (if there was one) or did you make your own decisions on focal length, shutter speed, etc?
