Iron Age Round House Roofs at Butser

There is a place in East Hampshire where a group of experimental archaeologists have buit an iron age farm. It is called Butser, and it's an excellent day out. As a bonus, there is a very pretty hill behind the site, and when we went, the willowherb was in bloom. (So was the marshmallow, but I have double checked the photographs, and this was willowherb).

Painted from photographs.

Oil on canvas, 50 x 40 cm
