Garden Gate

A sketch before breakfast? Oh, why not?

Especially when you're a guest, and you're not going to work... This was done at my in-law's house in Cornwall, on the day that we came home. I gave the original to our hosts - it seemed appropriate - but it's such a sweet gateway that I couldn't resist showing the picture to you, my lovely readers.

  1. This is really beautifully done...quite charming; what a nice gift for your in-laws! I love the use of the black paper.

  2. Even better for the fact that my father-in-law made the gate, which I didn't realise until I'd made the drawing and given it.

Black paper seemed to suit this subject; there were so many shadows behind the bracken and in the woods.

    3. Thank you for persevering, Ros, 'tis much appreciated. I don't own or use an iPad or any clever mobile devices, so I don't know what the site is like via such technology.
